For this years Mint 400 I spent my time following around Chad Allender, The creator and founder of High Plains Drifters. HPD is a race team of friends who are the essence of privateering, funding every single race with their own time and money. Chad has the only Cayenne out on the field racing which puts him in the spotlight but also in an odd place in terms of which class he qualifies for. His car is too small to compete with the full sizes and his engine is too big to compete with the stock cars so he gets thrown in with trophy trucks. He does his best to just finish but sometimes things get in the way.
